Edward Hanna served as a State Prosecutor and as a Special Federal Prosecutor, and has been in public service for more than twenty years. Mr. Hanna is now retired from the United States Department of Justice, Criminal Division, Organized Crime and Racketeering Section.

He is the winner of the prestigious United States Attorney General's "Special Achievement Award" for three separate cases while stationed at the Miami Strike Force, and is the recipient of numerous other awards and commendations from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the U.S. Customs Service.

He is a graduate of the United States Attorney General's Trial Advocate Program (1977/ while stationed with the Special Operations Unit, Staff Headquarters, at "Main Justice" in Washington, D.C.). He received his B.A. in History-Archaeology from Ithaca College (1970), including study at the Queen Victoria University of Manchester in Manchester, England (1969-1970). He received his Juris Doctor from Villanova University, Garey Hall School of Law (1973).

During the Gerald Ford Presidency, and during the Jimmy Carter Presidency, Mr. Hanna served with the Criminal Division/Internal Security Section at "Main Justice" Headquarters in Washington, D.C., dealing with various U.S. National Security issues including Espionage, "Terrorism", and Sabotage of Government Installations. He served as an attorney/analyst in the examination and prosecution of organizations subversive to the interests of the United States; administration of the Foreign Agents Registration Act; intelligence/covert operations training, including handling of "Corona" ("spy" satellite) materials, at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Headquarters at Langley, VA.

During the Reagan Administration, he served with the Criminal Division/Organized Crime and Racketeering Section, both in Washington, D.C. and in South Florida with the Justice Department's "Miami Strike Force", where he prosecuted a number of cases of great national importance (including international narcotics cases, labor racketeering, and the RICO-prosecution of the International Longshoreman's Association); and where he was the "first (Special Federal Prosecutor) to obtain a jury determination of forfeiture in this district under either the Continuing Criminal Enterprise Statute or the RICO Statute."* [*From: Attorney General's Special Achievement Award].

Since entering private practice, Mr. Hanna has developed a sophisticated practice covering a broad spectrum of state and Federal Civil Litigation issues, (including numerous Contract and Fraud cases, and the Federal Civil RICO Statute), involving corporations and individuals. He has both defended and prosecuted Personal (PI) Injury claims, on behalf of corporations and individuals; guided business negotiations and employee controversies; and represented corporations and partnerships of various sizes in assorted business-related matters including Compliance Protocol, Corporate Security, Civil Rights and Sexual Harassment policy issues, and the protection of corporate assets and individual rights.

His Criminal practice includes spirited and insightful defense and guidance to clients who wish to "cooperate" with the Department of Justice or other agencies. Matters of concern to individuals, such as Marital Dissolution/Divorce, Last Wills, Trusts and Probate, are addressed with understanding and discretion; as are Real Estate Negotiations and Closings. Since entering private practice, Mr. Hanna has also served as a Special Legal Consultant to various state and Federal Government agencies.

Mr. Hanna's work has been covered in a great number of magazine and newspaper stories over the years and his appellate work was featured in a Special Bicentennial Edition of LIFE. He has represented and provided legal services to such diverse clients as the Seven-Up Bottling Corporation and the internationally-known Saudi Arabian businessman, Adnan Khashoggi.
